The Blend Within is a social enterprise that connects people, cultures, and places — especially in areas of conflict or disconnection — through creative projects that reveal our shared human stories.
We believe that even in times of division, we are more connected than we think. Through exhibitions, gatherings, storytelling, and digital tools, we spotlight these connections and create new spaces for understanding, expression, and collaboration.
To unite people, cultures, and places within a collaborative ecosystem — showcasing similarities, nurturing creative expression, and celebrating intercultural excellence.
We launched The Blend Within in early 2020, right before COVID-19 changed the world. Our physical space, designed for connection and cultural exchange, had to close just ten days after opening. Like many, we lost everything.
But instead of giving up, we reimagined our work — translating our mission into both physical and digital forms. Today, we’re rebuilding — from the ground up — to launch powerful projects that spark unity and understanding, locally and globally.
Nicky Boot: Co-Founder of The Blend Within and the Founder of Finer Blend. With a background from the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague, Netherlands, Nicky specializes in cross-cultural expertise, creative direction, and project management.
Resya Barnez: Co-Founder of The Blend Within and Founder of Foreign Scents. Her educational foundation from the College of Foreign Languages, Culture & Tourism in Indonesia enriches her expertise in multidisciplinary media projects and sensory design.
Circle of Insights: The Blend Within thrives on the collective wisdom of our advisors and connections. This diverse group includes students, graduates, and local and international entrepreneurs, providing fresh perspectives and insights from various backgrounds and skills.
We are currently raising €27,700 to relaunch our core operations and bring our community projects to life. Thanks to generous early supporters, we’ve already raised €8,500 — just €19,200 to go!
